Started in December 2023, Lineages follows Kumulipo, a previous series of works named after the Hawaiian sacred chant of creation. In this chant, the origin of the world is described as arising from the cosmic night to materialize into a primordial dualistic principle, from which all life forms is generated and evolve in increasing complexity.

In the Polynesian thought process, all forms of existence therefore share the same filial origin. Family genealogies are symbolized by the spinal vertebrae alignement of the Moo, a giant lizard or dragon and a shape-shifter deity associated with the water element.

Lineages is a personal figuration of this genealogical process.
